For businesses expanding globally, multilingual support is not an option. However, if your business’ multilingual support is carried out with substandard translation or localisation quality, it can have a very negative impact on your reputation, leading to a drop in sales. Conversely, high-quality multilingual support plays a key role in increasing a business’ credibility and building a positive image with consumers. At Sprok, we provide industry-leading linguistic data transformation services to help our customers succeed in global business.

Enterprise-level editorial quality

Research shows that the editorial quality of your documents, from catalogues to manuals, can have a significant impact on your business’ brand reputation, as well as influence consumers’ willingness to repurchase your products. The desktop publisher at Sprok ensures that your documents have enterprise-level editorial quality.

Language Quality Assurance (LQA)

The translation-revision-proofreading (TRP) process and the end-to-end translation (E2ET) process are finalised with LQA tasks. The LQA phase provides in-depth verification that is difficult to detect during the usual review phases of ‘revision-proofreading’ or ‘correction’. LQA is conducted according to quality assessment items to eliminate subjective assessments by the linguists, thus maximising the objectivity of the verification.

Frequently Asked Questions

The TRP process is a combination of three tasks in the following order: Translation-Revision-Proofreading, which is used by language service providers (LSPs) or translation service providers (TSPs) to ensure translation quality. The TRP process is characterised by multiple linguists assigned to each task to complete the final translation. The TRP process is also referred to as the TEP process, depending on the LSP or TSP. The E2ET process, on the other hand, is a unified methodology in which a single linguist works on both translation and correction tasks simultaneously and is used to ensure consistency and work efficiency in highly emotional projects, such as the translation of literary works.

Both the TRP and E2ET processes aim to ensure high-quality translations and have in common the use of computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools.

Computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools allow linguists to maintain consistency in their translations through translation memory (TM) and manage standard terminology for a particular customer or project through the use of termbases. To improve the productivity and efficiency of translation tasks, CAT tools provide an interface that simultaneously displays the source text and the target text. In addition, as TMs are accumulated, existing TMs can be reused, reducing overall project costs. Sprok’s CAT tool runs on a cloud-based Translation Management System (TMS) with ultra-high security.

CAT tools are essential for improving translation quality, and Sprok uses them for almost every translation and localisation project, without exception.
